INTRODUCTION
Switzerland is home of some of the world's most significant science and technology. We have come together with trend-setting organizations to enrich its connection with Western Canada.
Switzerland and Canada share a long-standing tradition of research and innovation excellence. With their leading universities positioned almost identically in the key world university rankings, the constant push for new innovations naturally follows the two countries’ ambitions. Switzerland has in fact been on top of the Global Innovation Index for 10 years in a row and Canadian industry and government policies aim to move up in this ranking. In the province of British Columbia, higher education institutions have numerous agreements with their Swiss counterparts. Canada’s particle accelerator center TRIUMF, located in Vancouver, works very closely with CERN in Geneva and with its ATLAS experiment demonstrated its role as the keystone of Canada’s contribution to this multinational science endeavor. In the spirit of this science collaboration and the notion of the multilayered value that arts bring to science, we launched the Swiss Innovation FEST Vancouver 2022.
